THE BOOK OF LIFE
(Isang Kabanata)
Mrs. Aurora L. Chan, in her spirit body, hovered above a vast sloping landscape dotted with countless flickering lights. She ran her eyes at the strange dark, pink- hued clouds in the sky. These produced a warm glow of light. She descended quietly for a closer look, and became fearful when she beheld the sight of several giant angels guarding the place. Some of the angels caught sight of her above them and waved at her to approach closer. Afraid, Mrs. Chan vanished and returned to her earthly body.
Mother Victoria accompanied her on her second visit. They landed right on the place where the angels stood ground. The twenty-one angels looked magnificent. They stood guard over a large mysterious Book made of gold, including the covers and its leaves. The Book is called ‘The Book of Life’. It is a record of all souls leading their physical lives on earth. The billions of tiny, flickering lights turned out to be flames of candles in various deformed shapes and lengths. Some candles were observed to be burning and wilting while others were standing straight with steady lights. These candles of life indicate the different life spans of people on earth. The normal length of the candles is two feet.
Mrs. Chan related a particular incident in which she actually witnessed Mother Victoria extend the life of a dying man. She was at her home then and prayed earnestly to Mother for the recovery of the dying man in an intensive care unit at a hospital located far away. Her prayers were answered this way. In her spirit body, she actually saw Mother change the suffering man’s wilting candle, and replaced it with a longer one. That was that. But a few hours later, the phone rang at her house. The happy news was of the man’s miraculous recovery from near death at the hospital. During the latter years of Mrs. Chan’s soul travels, she found herself in similar situations a few times more.
One such incident happened in 1998 at her hometown in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur. A friend, Alan Manggaga, was suffering from a serious lung ailment and had to be confined at a hospital in Digos, Davao del Sur. Mrs. Chan, with her daughter Eileen, were then visiting her parents at their old family house at Hagonoy. Suddenly, she saw through her Third Eye the dying form of Alan. She was frantically alerted and blurted out: “Mamamatay na si Alan!” (“Alan is dying!”) As
swiftly as she expressed her agitation, she sped out of her physical body, and in a speed of thought, implored GOD THE FATHER, THE ALPHA AND OMEGA 01230-6-4 to show mercy on Alan, and extend his life. At that, Mrs. Chan was given permission to personally seek Alan’s candle of life and to replace it with a longer and upright candle. Back in her physical form, Mrs. Chan calmed herself and continued to pray. She thanked the Alpha and Omega 01230-6-4 for the grace of life granted to Alan. All these occurred without Alan or anyone in his family being aware of the intercession Mrs. Chan made at the time.
A few days later, Alan was back from the hospital. He related how he almost died and saw, in his dream state, the Angel of Death near his sick bed waiting to guide him. But suddenly, he saw Mrs. Chan appear and she guided his soul to a world filled with countless candles. He saw his name written below a very short wilting candle of life. The candle was almost gone! He saw it replaced with a bigger and sturdier candle. After that, Mrs. Chan took him to explore other beautiful places in the spirit worlds. Alan related the events as he saw them with his Inner Eye when he was suffering at the hospital. The man, still hale and healthy, is almost thirty then. He lives with his family at Hagonoy, Davao del Sur, and takes care at present of Mrs. Chan’s modest mango and coconut farm in said place.
